Christianity Is Not Uniformed

Updated: Oct 8, 2023

Under the umbrella of Christianity, a spectrum of beliefs comprise the faith tradition. Our churches and denominations have taught us that there is one way if we intend to partake in the faith. In actuality, there are several different ways people have come to think about the theology of Christianity, and the teaching at our local assembly is that organization's preferred way or conviction.

Our new series entitled "Perspectives" examines denominational thought and asks: What does your church believe? What do you believe?

Our first topic is "Perspectives of Grace." During this three-part series, three Christian faith leaders will guide us through their denomination's stance. For this installment, we will be in conversation with representatives of the Presbyterian Church (USA), The Church of Christ (Holiness) Inc., and African Methodist Episcopal Zion.

This series gives us a voluminous opportunity to learn from our Christian neighbors. To hear how they approach and anticipate God and maybe even to broaden our understanding of the vast God with whom we engage.

We hope to cover additional topics; join us for this inaugural conversation.

Perspectives of Grace will be:

  • October 5th at 7 p.m. with Kathy Tessin teaching from the PC(USA) lens - RSVP here.

  • November 2nd at 7 p.m. with Alisa Castilla teaching from the Church Of Christ (Holiness) Inc. lens - RSVP here.

  • December 7th at 7 p.m. with Rhonda Johnson teaching from the African Methodist Episcopal Zion lens - RSVP here.

As always:

Come with your faith.

Come with your curiosity.

Come prayerfully.

This is a brave yet gentle space.

All are welcome!
